Guidelines for Business Activities
Integrity, adherence to the law, and responsibility toward people and the environment are core principles of business activities at Alfred Beck Maschinenbau GmbH. We comply with globally recognized standards, particularly the „United Nations Global Compact,“ the „UN Guidelines on Business and Human Rights,“ and the „OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.“ We expect the same commitment from our business partners.
We, therefore, expect our business partners to comply with the following principles:
Compliance with Applicable Law
- Adherence to the relevant legal provisions of the applicable legal system(s) in the business relationship with Alfred Beck Maschinenbau GmbH.
Prohibition of Corruption
- No unlawful offering, granting, demanding, or accepting of advantages to or from business partners. Specifically, no donations to employees of Alfred Beck Maschinenbau GmbH or their relatives, except for low-value promotional gifts or hospitality during business meetings.
Fair Competition and Prohibition of Cartels
- Compliance with applicable competition and antitrust laws and promotion of fair competition.
Respect for Employees‘ Basic Rights
- No discrimination or harassment based on skin color, race, nationality, social or ethnic origin, disability, sexual orientation, political or religious beliefs, gender, or age.
- Respect for each individual’s personal dignity, privacy, and rights.
- Fair treatment of employees, free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse, physical punishment, torture, psychological coercion, forced labor, or threats of such treatment.
- Compliance with the maximum working hours and minimum wage laws in each respective state.
- Recognition of employees‘ freedom of association according to applicable national legislation, without favoritism or discrimination against members of employee organizations or unions.
Prohibition of Child Labor
- No employment of individuals who have not reached the minimum age according to ILO Convention 138.
Health and Safety of Employees
- Responsibility for the health and safety of employees, including training in occupational safety and minimizing the risk of accidents and occupational diseases.
Environmental Protection
- Adherence to environmental regulations and international standards, conservation of resources, minimization of environmental pollution, and continuous improvement of environmental protection.
Data Protection
- Compliance with applicable data protection regulations and responsible handling of confidential data.
Business Partners
- Promotion of compliance with this Code of Conduct among business partners to the best extent possible.
